Dave Senior - Community Manager and Innovator at the Ryerson Digital Media Zone

Hi Welcome to In the Zone, a blog to bring you the latest information about the amazing things happening at the Ryerson Digital Media Zone. I am Dave Senior the community manager and a participant in this whole process. The Ryerson DMZ is located in the heart of Yonge and Dundas Square and is setup to foster and incubate great ideas, experiences and business from students, alumni and faculty on campus. To me, the DMZ is all about those opportunities and moments of inspiration that come when you combine talented people, great ideas and the right environment.

Ryerson Digital Media Zone is trying to make great things happen. Whether it's commercializing current university research or creating the next great digital media business from the ground up. Ryerson University is sparing no effort in making campus ideas come to life.

I will be keeping you informed of the incredible work being done by the participants, the process of creating things in the DMZ and cool things that are happening day to day. Be sure to check back around April 12th, I'll be sharing a ton of new info on the launch of the DMZ and all the participants that make this space a great spot to turn dreams into reality.

SR&ED Tax Credit in a Nutshell

via techincentives.ca

The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is a federal tax incentive that aims to enable and incentivize research and development (R&D). SR&ED helps Canadian organizations—at any size and growth stage—conduct research that leads to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes.

For information straight from the CRA’s mouth, check out: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/txcrdt/sred-rsde/bts-eng.html The page takes you through all the questions (how to: qualify, apply, process) inherent to considering filing a tax credit application for SR&ED program.
